Designs From Odd Places

A graphics oriented blog I follow recently featured Nick Barclay’s minimalist designs based on Star Wars characters. I don’t know how well the designs represent the characters, but I think they’d be great for modern quilts.

  1. I like Luke and Han best–not sure why because it’s been a zillion years since I saw the movie. I think I just like the colors in the designs. A very creative graphic designer, though!

    • I believe Lucas is making another Star Wars movie, though don’t quote me. The designer decided to use only 3 colors for all his designs, so I’m impressed at the variety of shapes and line thicknesses.

  2. Well, I will be the one to fulfill your predictions. I like Luke the best, though Obi Wan is a close second. I am a bit put off by the color scheme — not a fan of brown on the whole, but the graphic is great.

  3. Really like the Darth Vader one – not sure how much the others really represent their characters, but that one speaks to me 🙂

  4. Obi Wan Kenobi — BEST!! Next I liked Darth Vadar. Does that tell deep dark interesting secrets about me? The struggle between the light and the dark? 🙂

    • What a great idea, to pick your favs. And the struggle between light and dark is never ending in quilting. As to Darth, maybe you just like tall, dark men. I can’t speak to the handsome, as you don’t see his face except in one of the disappointing prequels.
