I’m amazed that an ordinary cotton curtain can look so mysterious. I love the texture and the cutwork openings that hint of something behind the curtain. The wire filament like threads look like they’re about to dissolve. Then there’s the cable pattern. I used my camera’s black and white setting though it might look good in sepia.
I recently read a book that talked about ‘the space between.’ That’s the unseen part of a picture… the missing part.. that is waiting to be filled.
I think that art we find intriguing gives us that space between to fill in according to our own thoughts. Ambiguity keeps the viewer’s eye longer and encourages thought.
Sort of Battenberg lace style? I like the little peeks into the world.
Is that what it’s called? I wondered. And yes I like the tease of the mostly obscured view.
